The Richmond Folk Festival Encore Presents: Fran Grace

One of my favorite acts at the Richmond Folk Festival 2022 was Ms. Fran Grace. Here is one of the songs that was featured on The Richmond Folk Festival Encore 2023 Thursday 9pm with VPM Music host, Shawn Evans from Ms. Fran Grace (sacred steel guitar). Also read the article by The Richmond Folk Festival on Ms. Fran “Ladystrings” Grace.

This will be your last chance to hear Ms. Fran Grace and her family band, “Ladystrings” on “The Richmond Folk Festival Encore 2023” series broadcasted on VPM Music this Saturday at 5:00pm, live streaming at VPM.org with host Shawn Evans.

In the meantime, enjoy a sample of what is to come with my interview with Ms. Grace, and enjoy the show!

The Music of Robert A. Hall

Music from ‘A Pixie From Kilmarnock’ audio series, pt. 1 is the first in the series of music from the audio series  ‘A Pixie From Kilmarnock’ featuring artwork from some talented people within the orbit of Pixiedom.

One of the biggest components to the success of the interviews from “A Pixie From Kilmarnock” is the music.

The stories are compelling on their own, but the addition of Robert A. Hall’s beats set a tone that provides a depth to the stories that otherwise would be vacant.

Robert lives in Denbigh, VA on The Lower Peninsula, and likes to play the guitar and write music.

When I told Bobby about my creating a website with the plan to revise some interviews I had posted on Facebook, he graciously offered to provide the music, the component I knew I needed to make the interviews fresh…and he delivered with a level of talent that totally took me by happy surprise. Without any indication as to what the tone of each interviewees was, he always managed to have just the right song…and always just when I needed it.

The first featured art is  of my young talented cousin, Lynesha M. Ball, exhibiting a talent I can only hope for.

Lyn is a native of The Northern Neck in Lancaster County, VA, and is currently preparing to attend Radford University.

Please enjoy the feast of the ears and eyes as bought to you by ‘A Pixie From Kilmarnock’.

Thank you.
