The Save Brookvale History Committee, with the cooperation of the Board of Supervisors, administrators of the County of Lancaster, VA, and some community liaisons, are working together to organize a May Day which will be held May 17, 2025 on the grounds and in the building of our beloved Brookvale High School, 36 Primary Circle School, Lancaster, VA, 22503 10am-5pm.

We plan, as part of the festivities, to include traditional rivalry games represented by the Lancaster County Public Schools as A.T. Wright, and Brookvale, vs Northumberland County Public Schools, as Julius Rosenwald, and Central, and with participates from each of the counties’ youth groups, any other organizations, and individuals that wish to participate.

The May Day events will include some of the following:

One of the high points of attending Brookvale High School were the activities the student body enjoyed organizing and participating in; science fairs, parades, academic clubs, but most importantly were the May Days where the most exciting activities were the baseball games, notably between Julius Rosenwald then later Central High Schools.

May Day wasn’t May Day at Brookvale if Central wasn’t a part of it!

Hear from Jesse Davenport, former student of Brookvale High School and member of the 1969 State Baseball Championship team in a 2021 interview.
